Question Best shop for barrel boring??

I have a couple of barrels I would like to get bored for Freak inserts. I know several people are offering the service and Im wondering who does the best work? I had one done about a year ago and it was not done well at all. Price isnt as much of a concern as quality.

Thanks for looking.

Nathan at O'Dells Paintball has done two for me. He has fast turnaround and great quality of work.

Are the backs long enough on those? It's been a while since I handled one, but I seem to remember them being a bit short.

Also, is it threaded, or glued? A glued barrel might come apart durring the boring process, and they can be a pain to re-align.

I had a DYE UL back done a while ago so I know they will work. Threaded of course. And I think stainless is just too tough to go back and rebore. Ive never heard of anyone boring SS.

Stainless

Stainless can be bored but it requires a ton of time to do it correctly. Even my 3hp toolroom lathe struggles with it. I can bore a typical aluminum barrel in about an hour. Stainless is about 2 and a half. and is really hard on the tooling. I prefer not to do it at all as you might as well throw away what ever insert you used on that job and inserts arn't cheap

So for what id have to charge you might as wel buy 2 more barrels.

I noticed that you list SS boring for $50 in your 'Services' thread. Is this no longer the case?
