Sterling: hardline to microline

This hardline is just killing me!! After the anno job on this sterling I can't get the hardline seals to work like before. I was wondering if anyone could tap over the hardline holes and run a micro line through the frame like the hardline was.

I'm guessing you are reffering to the compression fitting located in the asa?

Was that fitting removed prior to ano? Or was it left in?

If it was removed you may just need the o-ring replaced.

If the fitting was not removed you may need the fitting replaced.

Also have you tried fitting the lower joint first... remove the hardline from the valve body, attach the asa/bottomline... insert hardline down through grip and into the hardline compression fitting in the asa... then fit the hardline in the valve body compression fitting.

My thinking for the above procedure is that usually the compression fittings like a to have the line over seated and then pulled back a little.. which you can't easily do by just screwing on the asa on to the lower grip with the hardline just protruding.

Anybody else have thoughts on this?

And I don't think you will want to go with Microline as you are running un reg'd gas... you will probably blow the line.

Alright I'll try that procedure!! Thanks for the help!! I've been waiting for a reply on this thread for a while.

Oh, and The fitting might not have been removed for the ano job. Where can I get a new one? I guess it's glued down or something.

OK, I tried it that way and it still isn't working. It has to be that fitting in the ASA. So I can get a new fitting or ditch the hardline I suppose. Will using a line really not work? All the Electros have a line running from the ASA to the reg nowadays or is that a different kind of line? Macroline? that would work, right?

Macroline is HUGE in comparison and you aren't going to be able to get the bend at the top of the grip frame with the hose.

I'm going to move this to Ask the Experts so that is gets some more looks... someone should be able to answer about the fitting.

I might have to do that. Do you have any pics?

I think i have that option or finding another one of those fittings( or maybe locktiting it or something). This sure does stink!!
