Difference between '99 pump kit and 2k+ kit

I know the internals of the 2 'cockers are different, and I know that there are 2 versions of the pump kits. But what exactly are the differences in the kits? And is it impossible (or too difficult to be worth the effort) to mod a 2k+ kit to fit/work on a '99?

I have a teammate that has a 2k kit and I'm looking for a '99 kit for a 'cocker that I'm going to be giving my daughter at Christmas (or possibly her birthday).

Thanks in advance for the tips and/or advice.

The difference is on the diameter and threading of the part of the pump guide rod that threads into the front of the body. Where the front block banjo bolt usually goes on an Autococker.

While I suppose technically it's possible to turn down a 2k bolt and rethread it (since it's larger in diameter than the 99), it would probably be easier just to sell that kit and buy the one you want.

Actually, drilling & tapping a pre-2k body to take a 2k+ pump guide is a whole lot easier than modding the pump guide.

True, it is. But he asked about modding the kit

Thanks guys. I really don't want to mod the 'cocker, because I want to leave it able to run off of unregged CO2.

I'll just have to tell my teammate I can't use it. Unless of course the price is just too good to pass up. Then I'll buy it and try to trade it.

Don't think rethreading the hole would make any difference to unregged CO2 since that mainly comes down to springs.
