| Active Member Join Date: May 2006 | RVA Problems Ok, I got a Palmers RVA from them about 2 weeks ago. When I got it, it was plastic. Well, it seemed like it would work. Well, now, I have cocked the marker about 20 times and the RVA is wiggling back and the hole for the frame screw is stripping. Now I am thinking, there is no way it should be plastic, it just won't work. Are these plastic? In the picture, it sure is glossy and metal looking and also has a Minus and Plus sign. Mine does not. Man, for $28.50 after shipping, I have a useless piece of plastic. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Last edited by Dawg047; 08-28-2008 at 03:03 PM.. |

I don't care for the new parts myself especially for the price of a PPS marker. AL parts = more expensive raw material, harder on tooling, need to be annoed Delrin parts = cheaper raw material, easier on tooling, no anno required |

Anno can get expensive as well as the laser engraving and I think the biggest factor you are leaving out is time. Aluminum will take longer to manufacture than delrin. On top of the fact that if these are being sent to an outsourced machinist, I can tell you first hand that large orders have to be made, they don't always come out correct, and can take forever to have made. PS, raw acetyl (delrin) and raw aluminum stock are just about the same price. At least where I shop for it. And I get aluminum by the pound.
