Is a 68 carbine supposed to work on liquid?

Is a 68 carbine supposed to work on liquid?

I have a carbine and I don't seem to be able to get a good velocity.

No not a liquid friendly valve if still stock in that gun, the CVX valve will tolerate Liquid. Pro lightts were the last of the old generation liquid tolerable valves. When the CVX valve was introduced in the Pro Carbine it ushered in the new generation of liquid friendly valve generation.

Although its very possible that your 68 has the cvx valve B mentioned. Many were sent in for a free upgrade, and many came off the proiduction line with the cvx valve once it came out. Dose your carbine have a brass airline? If so it probably doesn't have the cvx valve and shouldn't run liquid.

Chappy, what would prevent it from running liquid?

I don't really know much about Tippmanns after the Pro/Lite, but does the non-CVX valve use weaker orings? or plastic parts that might crack?

I ask because for years I've always told people with blowbacks to just run a siphon. But lately I've stopped saying that as many modern guns literally break, not just leak, with a siphon tank.

From my understanding, they were just horribly inconsistent. Thats the reason they offered the free upgrade, because when running gas, and liquid reached the valve, the problem was even worse due to very high fps spikes. Its not that you can't run liquid, its just that you shouldn't, because you won't get the normal benifits, and you'll get the occasional hot shot. I've heard that the valve they used was great when properly regulated, or run on hpa.
