What kind of LPR is this?

Attached to the ASA

It's having a bit of trouble recharging fast enough to keep up with the noid, thus causing shortstroking. How much of a difference would swapping it with a tickler or a micro rock make?

Probably a lot. Micro rock is likely the best, but I hear good things out of ticklers for pneumags too.

Ticklers are exactly the same as the above reg. WGP adjustable regs are all pretty much the same.

No difference except maybe your later model reg has some issues.

Tickler reg in that position will also never stay tuned because of the dumb thumb knob.

Grab a micro rock. Check for pinched hoses. Maybe the reg is simply set for too low an output.

Try an SCM-3 perhaps. They're supposed to be VERY fast. Fast enough to run a Matrix in the inline reg position, in one test I saw.

just clean it out

should easily keep up.

as someone else said, all WGP regs (like many manufacturers regs) are pretty much part per part the same regs. WGP has only ever made two regs - there LPR and there HPR. just they come in different cans, and might or might not be externally adjustable.

Pulled it apart, cleaned and oiled it, and it seems quicker now. It's keeping up with 20 BPS ramp as opposed to me outrunning it on semi.

WGP regs are pretty decent. I think you may like it now that you've cleaned it out.
