| Newbie Join Date: Aug 2008 | VL Charger problems. help Ok. Need some help here. I have an older marker that I want to get going for my younger brother but I'm having a few problems with it. Its a VL Charger. Everytime I go to fire it makes me re-cock it in order to fire another shot, on top of that I can't get any velocity out of it. The ball just barely rolls out of the barrel. I have taken the thing apart three times now to try and find something wrong with it but have come up empty-handed. All the electronic components work and I have tried adjusting the velocity several times. I have even tried multiple tanks just to make sure it wasn't the tank. Please help. |

Make sure the hammer bumper isn't infront of the hammer. I've seen quite a few people make this mistake. Also, a good cleaning and re-lubing solves most issues. Use proper paintball gun oil. NOT grease. You want a liquid.

| Seasoned Member | Hard to say then, with out a physical examination. One of the common fixes I found that works on many BE/VL guns that don't want to recock for no apparent reason is to screw the velocity adjuster all the way in. The extra tension seems to unstick something and it starts working. Once it starts to fire normally you unscrew the velocity adjuster back to a safe velocity. Now I have no idea why this trick works on certain guns, but I've seen about a dozen that would need this every so often. Of course if it's a different reason it's not working, then it won't help at all. Make sure the o-rings haven't been swollen by something. Tank o-rings will work for nearly everything on the gun. The hammer technically has a softer o-ring, but a tank o-ring will sometimes work. A backwards detent can cause a similar issue as well. The hooked part goes to the Front. Also double check your springs. Shorter one goes in the valve, longer behind the hammer. You should also check the valve. Big hole towards the front, small hole to the back. Make sure it's also lined up correctly to the body.

If the hammer has an oring on it try removing the oring had jabb that the hammer would hang on the sear opening because of the oring, low velocity and no recocking. Check the springing, if the hammer spring is to weak it will have issues. Lots and Lots of oil on the hammer and bolt. Make sure the orings on the bolt are not swollen and sticking, see if it slides freely by itself.
