Palmers PGP bonus parts either don't work or I'm missing something ...

OKay, I'm really tired and I can't figure this out.

I sent in the tubes of my old PGP to Palmers for a little valve work. I also bought a longer Hammer Spring. When I sent in the tubes I sent along the rear velocity adjuster in case they needed it to send me the proper length spring. I had told them I was having trouble getting the gun past 240fps even with the rear velocity adjuster turned all the way in.

When they sent my tubes back I got 2 extra parts I wasn't expecting. What they sent me were a "guide" (second from the left) and what looks like a hammer (farthest right). They sent it to me taped up in the gun in the exact order and orientation as in this photo:

Here's the thing ... the "hammer" doesn't engage the sear, it's way too far to the rear. Turning the rear velocity adjuster up doesn't help.

OKay, what gives ... is what I'm calling a hammer really a hammer? It's significantly different from a stock PGP hammer, is it a custom Palmers part? Am I just completely spacing out and missing something simple?

Thanks in advance for your help!

mm, i really can't tell from the pick, but if theres a hole the correct diameter on top of the "hammer" that pin may slide into it and engabe the sear, then you'd screw in the stock allen screw and spring and it would function like the stock hammer...my PGP dosn't have a pin that goes into the spring so its a possibility... just a suggestion...hope it helps

opps, sorry, let me correct myself..the pin may be an extended version that would go into the bolt with the stock spring and set screw to engage the new hammer and, also, you may need to remove the sring pin from the stock hammer and place in the new one to engage the sear...i tore down my PGP looking for anything that could help and that all i came up with

There's no holes at all in the "hammer" except for the hole in the back where the hammer spring would go.

I just can't figure out why they would give me this part and what I'm supposed to do with it, and if I really need it lol.

Email Craig and link him here or better yet, post it on the official PPS forum. He should know what's going on with that.

This is very similar to the hammer in a Houndstooth.
