Quick kp stock question

So I am in the process of refinishing my stock but can anyone tell me how to get the dang trigger guard off? I cant seem to think off a way to bend those pieces and get it off.

thanks in advance

Needle nose pliers and a lot of force??

Or, I say cut them. Then fill the holes with epoxy and replace them with screws.

I attacked... the trigger guard on my last KP stock, with two long screw drivers, a metal spackle wedge, pliers (both needle & regular...), patience, Hurculean type strength... and a heightened sense or view, of my finished project

But seriously, just rip the sucker out, use da muscles.

edit: To elaborate....The metal tacks inside are old, but strong as heck, and do not want to be removed. For the least amount of Stock damage, and not to warp the Trigger Guard: Inside the stock, take a long thin flathead screwdriver, and work on flipping up the 2 tabs at the split-end of the tacks. Don't expect to get em the first time, especially the one furthest back in the stock. Even once you get them straightened out, ripping the guard outta the stock will require a decent effort. Once your done you can lightly sand/drill out the holes, and utilize long set-screws to re-apply the guard to the stock after re-finish.

You know you dont need to take it off to refinish the stock. I say leave it in.
