Barrel hone for .62?

Just curious if anyone knows of a good hone for a SMG?
Flex hone doesn't make them for that size.

Could you cram a .68 flexhone in there?

Have you actually contact brush research? They wer every helpful when I talked to them. From their web site:

Our patented Flex-Hone®Tool is available in sizes from 4mm to 36” in 11 different grits and 8 different abrasive types.

While they do not have a .62 for paintball I would guess that they make one for somehting else that would fit.

Nah it would be too tight.. he could try but it wouldn't work as well and would definately screw up the barrel.

a 20 guage shotgun is .615 cal.
a 20 guage flexhone should be slightly greater to impart force upon that .615 bore, and therefore should touch the walls of a .62 ID tube.

20 Gauge 00052/180 grit 00053 /800 grit

flexhone part numbers.

actually you might want just a chamber bore flexhone 12" part # 20 Gauge 00056 in 800 grit only. The others listed are 34" flexhones.

remember to keep the oil handy.

Instead of a flexhone what about making up a plastic plug lap? A lap is differnet from a flex hone by being a variable sized parallel plug that not only can be used to size and polish a bore but will also tend to straighten any waves in the walls by cutting more on the narrow portions or variations than on the wider portions.

A lap is a plug that you coat with abrasive particles. This is commonly an oil or grease charged with abrasive particles of the desired grit. As it is inserted into the bore to be lapped the grit embedds itself into the softer of the two materials. For brass aluminium makes for a good lap material. For aluminium a harder grade of plastic works well. The lap is generally attached to a flexible shaft and uses a split design and a screw into a tapered threaded hole to provide a few thou worth of size variation.

That would be fairly simple to make and use. Or, if you *must* get a flexhone, why not just a 5/8"? That would be .625, and in a fine grit wouldn't open it up much.

Wow, the first time I posted this I got nothing.
Thanks for all the great suggestions, except the one about cramming in a .68
LOL
It was the guys at Brownells that said they had nothing to fit.
As far as length, the 12" would be to short. One of the barrels is 16" on my SMG sniper.
I wouldn't mind opening the bore a hair, the paint I have is slightly swelled.

Thanks for the info guys.
