I just ordered my inline stabalizer from PPS they had to build it today. So my input will be 3000 psi off the tank and my out put will be 0-800 psi. So I can adjust it to what I want.

Also my friend gave me a first stage dive reg. Just need to put a few gauges on it. Need a 0-3000 then another 0-3000 so I can check the out put pressure

Now does anyone here know if dive regulators can be adjusted? If so can anyone recommend a good shop? Is there anyone here that is certified to work on dive regs?

Man these paint grenades are getting more expensive by the month lol. Well if you want perfection, you have to spend money.

dont dive regs usually drop you from 3000 to about 100 psi if i remember right?

yeah, 125 sounds right for breathing regs.

That would probably be perfect for out put.I'll test that pressure on the stabalizer. Might be to low.

Usually a first stage dive reg will have both low and high pressure ports. The low pressure ports are typically around 125psi, and the high pressure ports are unregulated. Depending on the reg, some have an adjustable intermediate pressure (low pressure) from 0 to 150 psi, some are fixed. It might be possible to have a dive first stage set to have a higher low pressure output, depending on the reg.

For actual playing I would strongly suggest you do not run the full 3000'ish tank pressure through a remote hose. If it ever gets torn loose or the line eventually weakens from kinks and other normal wear and the line breaks then a 3000 psi jet of air coming out of the line or fitting will be quite capable of serious harm injury or even death. 3000 psi is not something to fool with.

Assuming you're using one of the smaller pony bottle setups on your back I would suggest you set up the arrangement mentioned above where you plumb a paintball tank reg to the output from the scuba bottle. Or if by some chance the scuba bottle uses the same threads as the existing tank threads just replace the scuba valve with the paintball reg directly. Alternately I would look at getting a paintball reg modified to fit onto a scuba tank yoke so it fits directly onto the valve much like the regular scuba first stage reg does. That by far would be the cleanest installation. And that way the tank can be easily filled by any regular scuba shop.

The scuba first stages are set typically to 150 psi. Or at least they were back when I was actively diving and paid attention to this sort of stuff. New ones may be using 125psi like you guys are saying. They are adjustable but I seriously doubt that they are adjustable over enough range to hit 700 to 850 since there is just no need for them to vary over that sort of range. Scuba regs also use Oring sealed fittings rather than tapered pipe fittings like paintball is used to using so there's no way to use our regular stuff on any scuba regs without some serious modifications.

Now if you're talking about using a full on 80cu ft scuba tank then you're obviously in far, far better shape than I'm in since my 80 weighs around 40 lbs when filled and mounted in the backpack. One of the 20 cu ft bottles wouldn't be bad but they are still quite the load to pack if you're a run and gun sort of player.

The palmer reg arrived today. I'll test it out tomorrow after I make Viper's Paintnades. I don't want to risk blowing a seal just in case lol. Pics and review will follow.

Thanks a lot railgun! thats basicly what i needed to hear!

I got the thinking after reading that, what if i took a standard HPA tank regulator, and screwed it into my gun, capped off the thread that would go into the actual HPA tank (since there will be no tank attached to it), and ran a ninja fill whip from my tank into the regulator's fill ASA, thus making a kink-less high pressure hose, like the whip is designed to be? It seems a little safer to use the plumbing on the existing tank without trying to modify it, 3000psi is dangerous stuff.

And i am using a 30cu ft pony bottle, it weighs about 25lbs full, and i just wear it on my shallow water back plate, you barely know its there if you dont think about it.
