I just gave it a coating of DOW. I'm fixing the tank for a kid I sold of to, recharge rate doesn't bug me. I just want it to stop leaking.

ummmm dow or any other grease wont stop a leak............
You need an o-ring. Are you telling us your trying to an pass off a leaking tank to a unsuspecting buyer?

Airtool oil is silicone based if I recall correctly. Petroleum based oils are not harmfull to urethane o-rings. Tippmann sent hoppes #9 with their guns for years, which is a petroleum based lube. I really dont think their is that much problem with using petroleum based lubes on o-rings. It may swell them over a few years of time, dont think that using a thin film of oil on the o-rings will harm them as much as others think it will.

also, by the time it actually deteriorates the o-rings, you would've changed them already.

well, you probably SHOULD have changed them already.

My vote for tank reg lubes is Chemplex.
