ATS Leak Out the back.

Parts made it in sometime in November and just got home to try and fix my AT85 up. Replaced the regulator and cog+pull put a tank on it and I have a leak out the back bottom hole.

I remember somebody else having this issue but I can't seem to find it.

Help please?

Is it a major leak or a small one? Major leaks indicate either a seal failure or a clip failure. If you remove the housing and the piston shaft is loose (i.e. it does not stay in the forward position or has no resistance to going forward or backwards) you most likely have a failed clip in the piston assembly. If the piston is good your cycle spool seal may have failed. Of course you may just have too much pressure getting past your regulator and that could be causing the leak. That is why fixing leaks always starts with a check on the regulator for bad seals.

It's small, once I did the regulator rebuild it was significantly less. I'll check the other things in a sec.

Checked piston, it seems fine.

Realised I hadn't tightened down the regulator as far as it was, about a turn, turned that down then I got no cocking, turn it up 1/2 turn. Now I get two shots when I add air, then a small leak somewhere in the mag-well.

So tried again today.

Get the pop. Good! Hear small leak in magwell. Load in the magazine, dry fire. Fires and then starts venting fairly heavily out the back.

Found the old cog pin in the grease. Hadn't noticed it before.

Will try again in a sec.

Tried again, bolt was stuck forward venting out the hole under the ASA. Pushed it back got same behavior. Just checked afterwards and bolt is stuck forward again.

What do you mean by "stuck forward"? It's a closed bolt design so the bolt will be forward when at rest.

Right, sorry the fact that it is closed bolt slipped my mind.
