Auto fire in semi mode

I have an AT-10 that I purchased from Hurt Cow, that works just fine except for two things.

1. It leaks from the cycle assembly vent hole on the rear housing.

2. Intermittently while in semi only mode the gun will go full auto an lay out a string for a second or two firing off 10-20 balls with one trigger pull. Even if I immediately lift my finger off the trigger the full auto continues. But then after the full auto I can fire of another 15-20 balls before it will go full auto again.

Any suggestions or should I just send it back to ATS??

Thanks.

Hmm... it did that when I had it. I once bunkered a guy, and it ran away and lit him the hell up.

That's one of the things I asked Gumby to fix when I sent it to him before he sent it to you. In fact I'd sent it in once before for that (among other things), and it still did it when I got it back. So if you send it in, that'll be the 3rd time it's been in for that same problem.

Is the barrel in tight? The two primary causes of auto-in-semi are loose barrels and broken trigger springs. Easiest to check is the barrel. The trigger spring can be seen with the housing removed from the receiver. Separate the housing and sleeve assemblies. Look down through the trigger area. If you pull the trigger you should see the spring expand. If the spring is not connected to the end of the pawl it will not pull it back out of the way and it will release the hammer sear.

Before you put the housing and sleeve back into the receiver, check to make sure your barrel travels enough. Tighten it down and look into the mag well. You should be able to see a bit of sizer past the end of the receiver nut. Then before you put it back together loosen the barrel and make sure you tighten it after completing the assembly. Test fire it again

When my guide plate leaf spring broke, my TS-1 would only fire in full auto. Check out that bad boy too. If you have to place an order with ATS, it might be prudent to pick up a couple.

Guide plates are always a good item to have a spare or two of. Even when you do nothing wrong they can and will still fail over time. It's a thin heat treated flat piece that has to deflect quite a distance over and over again.

There is another solution to FA in semi. PM me your address and I'll send you something to try.

I didnt hold on to my ATS guns, but If I did I would have sought the most sure solution to FA in semi possible, even if it meant an elaborate way to disable the feature.

changed out the trigger, now worse than before. I'm just going to have to send it into ATS for a complete rebuild.
