also, it may not have much to do with anything, but my barrell threads are slightly stripped on the at-16, and so it doesnt get too tight, even if this is not the problem, you have any ideas on how to rethread it?

Most likely the barrel threads have worn down. They thread into a steel insert, which does not tend to wear down since it is harder than the barrel. The problem is that the 23" barrels are no longer in production. Best solution would be to add a bit of tape the the threads and leave the barrel in as much as possible.

If your barrel doesnt stay tight into the receiver you will get full auto like simptoms before stalling. I would say that with your striker spring being broke and/or missing with your barrel being stripped, this will more then likely be the root cause of your problems.

but the barrell on my at-85 is fine, in fact i have both a 16" and a 14" for it, and that is the gun with the bad spring. btw gumby, thats what iv been doing, pipe tape. you think theres any way i can send these in and have you have a look at them?
