Just got an ATS -Advice needed! Hi guys, I just won an AT-85 on ebay (cross your fingers for me) after lusting after one since I was a teenager. I have plans for it but I need some advice. N2 Tanks - Who makes quality tanks with 850 PSI output? What brands do you use, recommend? Who/what should I avoid? Rail - Thinking about adding the $10 'flat top rail' from the ATS site. What's the best way to adhere it to the marker? Handle- Also thinking about a carry handle but $125 for one from ATS seems a little pricey for me. Any good alternatives? Stock- Any quality air-through stocks known to you guys? Something akin to this... TIPP/SO - X7 COMMANDO STOCK AIR-THRU KIT Anyone know if ATS bundles their Stock, Sniper Grip, Handle, Rail in a package deal? Any general tips besides watching the video and reading the manual? I'll be ordering some spare parts soon.. any tips as to how many guide plates, cogs, etc I should pick up? THANKS ahead of time for any assistance!

Guide plates are a must to have (the amount I recommend is at least 2-3. Cogs arent normally needed. Its a pretty good idea to have an extra bolt incase you lose the bolt seal from one you've got a back up (takes 8 hours for the Locktite 410 to dry) but thats just a suggestion and maybe a o ring kit (not that your going to need all the parts in it but it does have some parts in it that are nice to have on hand just incase)

as for the stocks. i made a air through with a spec ops dogleg. you can make your own asa fittings. you can also pick up a old rifle stock and drill a air hole through the back. right now my dogleg weights more then my at-4.... i have a inside mask cheek plate, a reg, and a q-loader adapter and much much more.... I say yes yes yes My back says no no no. Good luck Daniel

I used a normal asa fitting and drilled and treaded to holes then Epoxyed it together. if you just drill a hole then tighten the hell out of it when theres Epoxy on it, its not coming off. if you want some help on the design just write me. and yes it dose go under my mask. heres my stock: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() you should see it with my friends grenade launcher and a red dot or scope on it...My poor back.

| very nice work snipe! Thanks for posting. I'm a little shocked that Spec Ops charges $120 for it. Is it pretty solid? Are you happy with the Q-Loader/ATS combo? Can it keep up with full auto? I may need to hold off on my mod plans as I believe someone may have mentioned that something exciting might be coming from ATS soon.. Last edited by onecaribou; 04-06-2008 at 11:27 PM. | The Unofficial TS1 Select Homepage ATS hasn't changed in a long time. as in 5-8 years. small things change. i had a a-5 dogleg and i didn't like my a-5 so i took the stock and gave it to a friend. the stock is prity solid, i really want to build a norther, but thats going to have to wait. but its a nice stock. you have to do horrible things to it until it looks like that.... not that most people like it. but it works for me. look at ops gear. http://www.commandarms.com/Default.asp?c=63435 Tippmann A5 Stock - M107 just some stock ideas. if you get the ats stock piece you can use any m4 stock with a tube. has to have the tube assembly. the q-loader works great, and keeps up with full auto great. but you lose the point of the gun, the mags, i would get a hopper adapter until you have a better system, ideally i would just have 5 mags. but for pure practicality it's great. 100 rounds full auto scares people+ the guns so loud so people literally jump. god its fun. If you want anything stock design or any advise were all here. and don't worry about bugging anyone. everyone writes a ton of questions right around the time they buy one. hope you love your gun- because it wont work if you don't

I have to say that after playing with the ATS CAR, a dogleg would probably be a very good thing. I had trouble quickly sighting with my mask on with my current config. I'm going to attach the ATS rail and a dinky red dot before I head out again this weekend to see if maybe that will help. I've got an AT85 and I really like the idea of the forward loaders but they do seem a little small in terms of capacity (I'm not brave or rich enough to go with just mags) so I'm working on plans for my own DIY 'Big Loader'. I know there's a thread running on this but does anyone have their own mod cooked-up? I'm collecting candidate pods, loaders to sacrifice... has anyone seen a 'perfect pod' to chop for this task (besider the Gatorback 2)? Anyone else with an AT-85 have problems using a sling and the forward loader? Not that I 'need' a sling considering how light the 85 is but I like to keep my hands free when not firing. The strap kept sliding down between the loader and the body whenever I'd reload. I loved using the ATS this weekend and got some interesting feedback.. I had a kid with an shiny-electo-something come up after a couple matches and tell me "yo, your gat is sooo loud I freeze wheneva you shoot". After we were done for the day I headed over to the practice range and cut loose full auto.. next thing I knew the field manager was running up to the fence yelling "what the hell is that!". Thanks for all the feedback. One reason I took the plunge on the ATS was the active user community.
