| Rec Poster | Paint Brand experience Hang on folks, this is not exactly a post of who makes or what is the best paint. This is a post as to which paint is the best paint to cycle through ATS guns. I have issues with the thinner shell, smaller diameter "premium tournament paintballs," these "premium" paintball jam in my magazines. They jam the paddles which jam the gears, which jam the chain, and that cause the gun to stop. Am I the only ATS owner to have this problem? I realize that tournament players shoot more paint so the paint makers go with the demands of their preferred customers, and the tournament players want thinner shells and smaller diameters for guaranteed breaks. Way back when I started, the best paint that I finally discovered to shoot well in my ATS was the original Marbalizer. It did not jam and had great flight characteristics. Since the field I played at in Memphis, TN was FPO, and that field paint was RPS PMI Premium. It shot fairly well; nothing to write home about, but at least it did not jam. All-Star, Evil, and Draxxus are all tournament paints and from personal experience shoot about as well as PMI Premium, but will jam in the magazine. Besides original Marbalizers, the only other paint I have shot that had all the qualities I like was an obscure brand called Steel-Ball. I was thick, and even had a visible seem on the ball, but shot amazingly well as well as a complete case of 2000 rounds never jammed. As I understand the makers of Steel-Ball are long gone. Currently, I am shooting PWI. Cheap stuff, easy to deform if not roateted often, but it has not jammed my magazine yet (*knock on wood*). I have a 2-day scenario coming up and the FPO choices are Zap, Evil and Draxxus Premium. Which one of the three would you pick? That is the quick answer. However the purpose of this thread is to ask the other ATS users/owners, from their experience, which paint feeds best through your gun? Last edited by zenmic; 08-06-2008 at 07:56 PM.. |

| Rec Poster Join Date: Jun 2007 | i'm probably not the best person to say this but my friend an I both love karnage, but Draxxus comes close. i have accuracy problems with smaller bore because of the unisizer but my friend has no problems what so ever. we've used the Draxxus recon ball and have been very pleased. but i'm not a good person to listen to because my at-4 has been more reliable then my old a-5. i've had this gun twise as long and i've chopped 1/25 of many ball in it, all of which were my falt. good luck i'm sure you'll have fun- thats the reason i got a clip- fed gun, so when the tordy guys are lighting me up i can smile and say "well at least i look cool" and isnt that what matters? happy hunting Daniel
