Springing a Lightning Pump?

...at least I think it's springing?

I'm trying to tune a Lightning pump with a Black Magic reg for my friend and I can't seem to get everything in sync. I can get it balanced and shooting (with the IVG pretty far in) at around 250. If I add reg pressure, the hammer doesn't strike hard enough to open the valve and the velocity goes down. If I up the IVG, it starts venting when it's not pumped. I can adjust the pressures up or down together and it hangs around that 250 mark.

I guess I need to look at springing but I'm pretty confused. HALP MCB!

Still gotta order a spring kit, but my initial thinking is to switch the valve spring for a lighter one so I can at least dial down the IVG.

I think that's a good place to start.

I'll refrain from my usual psychoballistics comments until you try that out.

Oh yeah, been through this with a Superbolt before .

I did install a ANS valve, but I think they're just stock-equivalent?
