wanting to build a psychoballistics custom

I read on pbreview that these are not compatible with some upgrades? Does anyone have any experience building a custom using this body?

Planning on having it halved, adding new pneus, and adding new annodizing.

Suggestions?

Not a bad base. I retapped pretty much all the threads on my Lightning though. Just had to be done.

What do you mean-- see that makes me nervous to use that body. They just look really good halfblocked, and i dont think many cocker bodies Do.

Edit: will be a superbolt.

They're just not normal standard threads. For instance you couldn't just thread a 10-32 screw into the frame threads on the body, they'll jam. But if you chase the threads with a tap, it's fine. They're only off a little bit, just enough to be annoying.

If you have a tap and die set, you can do it yourself by hand. It's not that difficult.

They don't anodize well.

If you're going to go through all the trouble of having it milled AND anodized, why not spend the extra $20 on a real cocker?

The issue with the annodizing is purely because of the base metal they used to mill the bodies. It isn't typical 6061 aluminum used in most markers. It contains a lot of zinc, which leads to the metal having a flaky/feathery appearance. The best way to describe it is to think about galvanized steel. It has kind of a feathery appearance. This is also due to zinc. If you have no problem with this, go ahead.

I could really care less about the ano, i just don't like the idea of having to tap every hole on the body just to begin upgrading. Might as well just start with a body already good-to-go. (And with a higher quality aluminum to boot)
