Retro 7 Accuracy and Reliability?

My main concern with any marker that I become interested in is it's Accuracy and Reliability. So to ask the obvious question, how accurate and reliable is the Retro 7?

I was getting 25 usable shots up here, in 10C weather...I was using my stiffi 9" barrel, and the paint was going where I pointed. The stock barrel sits flush, when I chrono'd with it, I was aiming for Ronald McDonalds head (yep full size RM in the chrono area) and was hitting it 95% of the time at 40ft.

I should have never sold it, I loved playing with it, good thing I have another on the way. I highly recommend them!

I have the factory freak bored barrel on mine. I have been able to aim very easily and hit almost exactly what I want to hit by sighting down the top of the gun (when I get the time to actually aim). The grip frame is very comfortable and makes it very very easy to point at the target.

As for reliablity. Its a nelson! Super simple, and very well made. Any issues that resulted in Gen 1 and 2 runs have been sorted out for Gen 3 guns. The pierce pin seal was an easy fix and has been fixed at the factory now. And the TPC has been fixed as well I think? If not, a standard phantom TPC and red spring fix that problem too.

I was getting 30 shots from mine no problem with a bit of gas left to spare 1-3 less usable shots. This is without any tuning whats so ever...

I love my R7.
Accuracy is pretty much where you point it. I run a freak back with a 4" tip and it seems to be the best all around barrel size for my applications. I do have the freak bored, stock barrel, but it is far too short for my tastes.

Reliability, in a nutshell it is a nelson and it performs very much like one. In decent weather, I can get 30-40 shots off a 12 gram 285ish FPS.
I do want to make mention, it you are going with the (2nd gen?) whatever the gunmetals were, the threads were a bit weak due to the who annodizer fiasco. Many, myself included, have punched out the old threads and went to a CCI threadsert.

One last thing... THE GRIP FRAME IS SOOOOO COMFY!!!

Reliability: It's a Nelson. There's not much to go wrong.

Accuracy: Mostly a function of the paint, then the gun. But mine is incredibly accurate. I use Ty McNeer brass inserts. The gun seems to just point naturally. Everyone that has tried mine has noticed the same thing, it just points right where you want it.

Veerrry weird, we have one in our chrono range as well! Unfortunately the eyes have been shot out from the cold making it brittle

I owned R7 number seven, 4 different times. It's that good!!! Ultimately, the style of play required to best utilize an R7 isn't my game. For plinking in the back yard, however, it was a blast!

So would it be safe to say that it would be just as accurate as my phantom since internally they're pretty much the same?
