Who's the old guy? Haha. :P

I like to see creativity and pushing the marker. But I really don't see the point to this. My Retro is plenty consistent and by design, efficient. I just am doubtful that any real gains can be achieved by circumventing the transfer tube/magic nipple and adding a regulator to a Nelson valve.

I'm not going to disagree with you Jackson. But pushing and testing has always been a way for me to subsidise my interst in this sport.
There are a couple things I'd like to test still, one mainly is seeing if using a lower input pressure will be gentler on paint. I did suffer a few today, even at 400psi output settiings.
I hope you stay tuned, for what ever its worth.

THE-SHOOTIST Anyone chubbin' like me for this?
mailmanmike Since Monday! That's more than 4 hours though, so according to those cialis ads I should see my doctor.
tlane77 I think for a non-chemical chubby it's 6 hours before its time to see a doctor. So you should be good for another couple hours.
splattttttt I wasn't goin to google "chubbin" because I assumed it had to do with fat. The lard type, not the fun stuff. But what ever feelings Jeff's experiencing, then they must be of the fun like stuff...

Didn't CJ use a modified phantom TCP to reduce paint breakage?

Yup a standard CCI tpc works perfectly.

Swap the stock spring for a red one and use Teflon tape to hold the tpc in place.

Also, with a slightly longer than stock barrel, even the standard, silver (medium) main spring works.
On mine, I noticed that both the frame and feed tube pilot/female screw holes had sharp edges. Don't know if this is what is contributing to that occasional break in the barrel.
I say barrel because if both pressure and turbulence was what caused breaks, I'd expect paint would be coating the bolt instead of just the barrel.

When I had #2 it didn't matter what I did, the thing blew up paint. I would have to strip the thing down because paint was everywhere, barrel, bolt, hammer, spring. I didn't try the Phantom TPC because I couldn't get good velocity with it and a red spring.

Jack might be on to something with using the reg. If he can get it to shoot consistently a 400psi with good velocity I would consider trying one again.

The connecter I'm using for the reg to valve has a noticebly large voulume to it. Probably an increase of 25% more volume. When I first hooked the reg, it sat at 259psi and shot well from the middle of my yard clear across the neighboring empty lot. That's a total of 175 foot distance.

Also for you guys looking to EASILY increase efficiency and EASILY reduce paint breakage: switch from the stock barrel to a longer, ported barrel... ALSO makes the gun much quieter. Awesome to see your Retro shooting so great at 400 PSI Jack!!!! Way lower than a Phantom will run stock

PS doug: watch the video, it's clearly shown.

ATM I'm using a dummy 12g in the grip. I plan on plugging the inlet port going into the chamber.
