yea I'm a big fan of 10EE's, they are very bloody nice (and great for overhauling). Love the round tach on the headstock... want to own one of them as well when I can find one.

Sweet.

Now that we know you have big chains, we can tie you to the machines until you finish our parts!

I know the slides are not a priority at the moment but what was the overall length of the slide?

How far out would a 12 inch barrel protrude out of the slide?

Update once more: No surprise, things continue to not go as planned, with unexpected bull**** derailing the schedule time and time again. We would have been up and running with power to the machines today, but the landlord is causing me extreme and chronic headaches... he is truly a DICK. No power until next weeekend, and furthermore I am acutely pissed off at the Avratech situation.

That is all.

That sucks. So close and so far. Still keeping my fingers crossed that I'll get my R7 before summer.

Worried about your 'furthermore' comment...you thinking of giving up on us?

I would like to add something that might be of use in future.

In the book "Leading Change" the author, John P. Kotter, a world leader on change initiatives, warns readers of the most common failure points in change initiatives.

One of the failure points Kotter warns of is "declaring victory too early." This thread is a good example of that.

Things were looking up - new location, new shop, new power transformer - but things were still up in the air. It was too soon to assume everything had been worked out.

Not trying to be an "I told you so" but there's no other way this will come off: when you posted about having to hoist the transformer up, my first thought was Kotter's warning. Anything could have happened.

There could have been a weak link in the hoist chain and the whole thing could have come crashing down.

The transformer could have been hooked up and immediate self destructed.

A fire could have started burning the whole building down.

So, not trying to add pressure or be an I told you so - only pointing out there's a lot that can and does go wrong between the starting line and "finished."

The superstitious types might take it as a bad omen posting a thread with "ready to rock" in the title while Murphy could easily set you back several steps.

LOL... well. That's one way to look at it, although far too much over-thinking it as far as I'm concerned. Bottom line is that I'm behind a bit further than expected, because I'm dealing with different and greater levels of stupid people factor at the new location. Superstition and philosophy have nothing to do with it, it's just plain old sitation and people based bull**** and I will move past it like everything else (not on schedule per se according to time, but certainly on progress as always).

Kos, I have no intention of giving up
