I used one of the spare plugs from the side. Get a Allen wrench to fit the port and twist it out. CAREFULLY. Then install the plug from the side and you're good to go. I can't recall using a vise, but it definitely wouldn't hurt.

I'm not sure with the R7, but a check valve can be made for the Phantom with just a pen spring and a bb pellet.

well. a ball and a spring (and a seal...) is all it really takes to make a check valve... just a matter of putting it in the right place, making sure it doesn't leak, or close so hard it restricts recharge as the pressure drops, cutting off those last few extra shots.

Installed one of Big-Matts's check valves into this retro! Works perfectly!

Haven't checked the velocity over a crono yet but I am looking at 70+ shots!! Hehe

Cool! I haven't tried it yet with the long barrel so my numbers are based off what I was getting from the stock barrel (33ish shots).

Will test and report!

very nice stilgar!

I remember for the phantom drop out valve I added a washer and rubber (furniture foot) pad to the valve.

Where did you add big-matt's check valve? I need to look at his stuff.

Into the top of the bucket changer.

I can remove the 12g in the bucket and the 12g in the grip will stay sealed.
