I will very likely keep the prototype for ever and ever. being its the first gun ive built ground up out of all hand-machined parts. I will be playing with it at Maple Ridge Paintball saturday and sunday this coming weekend, gotta get some play testing in time for WCPW
Mow faces with it bro.

THE-SHOOTIST Anyone chubbin' like me for this?
mailmanmike Since Monday! That's more than 4 hours though, so according to those cialis ads I should see my doctor.
tlane77 I think for a non-chemical chubby it's 6 hours before its time to see a doctor. So you should be good for another couple hours.
splattttttt I wasn't goin to google "chubbin" because I assumed it had to do with fat. The lard type, not the fun stuff. But what ever feelings Jeff's experiencing, then they must be of the fun like stuff...

Well, I've got some good news, but mostly some TERRIBLE news. first with the terrible: The valve stem is invariably ****ed. The cupseal separated from the stem, in a rather broken sort of way. the cause of this, was the macroline fitting being screwed too far into the gun, an issue I was already aware of, due to the NPT threads being tapped far too deep (somebody didnt use an NPT guage when they tapped it). course, I loaded the threads up with teflon tape and screwed it in only far enough to get a seal, and decided the cupseal would probably be fine... hundreds of shots later, not so much after all. I've sent an email to Palmers, hopefully a replacement will arrive in time for WCPW. If not, my wonderful plans may be trashed. Course, I could just make a new cupseal, and I will try to do just that!

In less depressing and more awesome news, I had been spending the day today building the third generation puller-guide and bushing, to remedy several factors which could cause inconsistency with the floating hammer and with the smoothness of the action. the new parts are perfectly successful, the action is now vastly smoother, and putting sideways/up/down pressure on the pump handle has no effect on the shooting or smooth action. when the hammer is cocked, the action will now slide open and closed (carrying hammer, bolt, pump and all) forward and back with a minimal tilt to the gun. scary smooth. course theres no return spring on it... that will be added in the near future, for my personal preference.

Cool photo of the three generations of prototype puller-guide/bushings, newest at the bottom. the bushing has been extended considerably and the fit is incredibly smooth with minimal play. the hammer is also shown on the left, and on the right, the busted cupseal. damn. Guess I better get out there and see about making a new one, in case palmers service sucks :P

EDIT UPDATE: took me just over half an hour, SUCCESS! the new and improved valve pin seals perfectly (stainless instead of brass!), and I shortened the macro fitting so its no longer an issue.

Great news: not only does the valve seal, but the gun performs ten times better than before. autotrigger works perfectly, action is tighter and smoother, velocity jumped way up! now i gotta adjust it down a bit, which is exactly what I want for testing (a good adjustment range from sub 300 up).

a marker I can play with this weekend. YES!

I've never been to a field that required trigger guards....I've seen oh so many old mags with no guard on the field.
