kaos pumps

I'm looking for some first hand experience from some akp users, how does the pump stroke feel? How is the maintenance? Anything I need to know? I do know the stock barrel is screwey but I've got one I could use.

I loved mine. Shot beautifully with a .679 CP barrel. I ran a 45/45 and a Sportshot, and it was a great little rig. Pump stroke was better than my Phantom and as good as any Sniper. The ONLY downside is the farting, but you don't notice it during play anyway.

All that said, when I bought mine it was $150. Now that they're up in the $200 area, I'd say a used Sniper would give you more bang for your buck both in customizability and the ability to tune and tweak its performance to your own desires.

I run mine with a Freak barrel, pocket hopper, and a 13/3. Very light and compact. Shoots great. I changed the springs and the valve to get rid of the farting, and added a reg to improve the consistency. My CCMed Prostock sniper is 8 ounces heavier, but has a much nicer trigger pull and autotrigger. I'd say the AKP's pump stroke is heavier than the sniper's, but they're both nice and smooth.

KP's aren't going at all. Doesn't seem like anyone has them in stock. Azodin doesn't even have it listed in their site. They've only got the KP+, which is $200, and it's different than the KP - the "+" stands for an electronic auto-trigger.

Anyone know where the regular KP went?

I liked mine. Got one shortly after release, before they made a single trigger frame. Pump stroke felt good once i swapped springs. Reminds me of a Trilogy Sport w/ econo pump kit. KP itself is lighter than a Trilogy, just a side note. The double trigger felt so so wrong, though. Once they released the single trigger frame, i jumped on it. THAT improved the feel a lot, even if the early single trig frames were just modded double trig frames - the single trigger guards were bolted on, so the grooves, corners & lines weren't milled for it, leaving a bump where the double trigger guard used to be. Newer ones were milled properly.

Yeah, I don't know where the kp went. I love mine. In Fact where did Azodin go? There is almost nothing on ANSgear. I have the ans one with the single trigger frame stock, lurker barrel, and karni reg, she shoots nice. Maintenance is stupid simple, maybe not phantom simple but easy.

i was talking to some paintball techs and machinists, and they suggested to me a few upgrades, and i want to post what i know about them here, to get info on spesifics of how i am to go about it.

1, spyder magna valve - ive never stripe down my kp enough to see what this valve will replace, how easy is it to install. i assume this was for the farting, and consistency?

2. spring kits, i think 2, 1 for pump handle and 1 for something else, its the something else, that im not sure about, which spring? the one at the far back? how would i go about choosing the springs from the kits? would i want harder or softer spring?

- the springs were to try and smooth out the pump stroke, and get rid of the farting.

3. a delring pump handle to soften the pump stroke. where can i get one that would fit onto my kp?

I was told when i do these things, my kp should feel like a ccm pump stroke. so im looking into it.

i can find spring kits at store, but the valve, and the handle i need to find more recources

I think the v2 solved a lot of those issues.
