2k2 to 2k5 ramsleeve conversion using a G6R cupseal

Disclaimer:
this article contain images that could be hard to watch for hard headed MF all stock B.L. G.I.JOE so please dont post or read this so please just move to other thread

the objective of this is only as an option in my case I had a lot of empire shafts and 2k2 sleeves laying around when I did this I brought around 4 markers back to life

you will need: 2k2 ramsleeve, quick steel, vice cupseal, empire shaft

2k2 ramsleeve

mix quick steel and do cup until tha center middle border

install the vice cupseal on empire poppit no mod needed to fit the shaft

there you go no leaks look closer and you will see that the cupseal dont touch the Q.S.

this has a mechanical dwell of 3.67 mm I cut mine to 2.80 and use vice springs "I cut my empire shaft 1.8 mm" but I always meassure my mechanical dwell before doing this BTW this is optional and if you feal secure tinkiering around if not just leave it like that

the vice cupseal seals with ram sleeve not with the quick steel so this has a nice seal better air flow than alias cupseal
Im planing to open the internal diameter 1mm more just like the G6R just to see if this helps with the airflow

Vices & G6R cupseals are going to be here for a while so this could be a nice option

BTW you can use this on a alias sleeve but your mechanical dwell will be of 2.40mm for me this isnt a issue I just use vice springs

Sorry to necro this, but how different are the Empire and Alias shafts? I ask because my Alias ram sleeve may be shot and 2k2's are a lot easier to find it seems.

ie. Would this work?

-2k2 to 2k5 sleeve mod
-alias shaft
-alias cupseal

Thanks.

alias and empire shafts are diff threaded

empires are same tread as vice or G6r cupseals

the alias mod its only a ramp the cupseal dont touches the quick steel thats why I used a vice cupseal it has a smaller diameter compared to the alias

alias cupseals can seal with 2k2 ramsleeves
but vice or G6r cupseals are more available today and you wont have a hard time finding 1

What are the advantages of a teflon cupseal head? I have a 2k2 and I love it because the entire pin is a solid piece of metal, and if I need a new cupseal all I need to do is find a teflon donut to replace it should need arise.

However, there are a lot of people who shoot for a teflon head, so does it have any advantages?
