Does anyone have a programming guide or know how to work the Gemini board for the rainmaker? I believe Bad Mojo Werks made this board. Help me put life back into an old piece of history! Thanks, -Trevor Last edited by RedHairedTrev; 06-01-2011 at 09:13 AM. Reason: figured out answer |

The Gemini was made by Al Mollick. The company was called Porno-Paintball, through the "Pneumagic" brand. The old website is archived here Though I don't see an online manual for it. Curiously, Mollick has his own website. You could try sending him a direct email. Also some good info here. Scroll down to the Gemeni, and it says how to adjust dwell, et.

I am impressed! I have done hours of research on this question using his name, his company's name, name of the board, nicknames, countless rainmaker threads, etc and have found nothing. I feel I know more about this Al Mollick character than anyone by now haha. Thanks for the info though - it is really going to help. Many things seem very... sketchy with his product development. I am not knocking the guy, but I will email him as a last resort because I feel as though he wanted to leave the paintball industry and move on. Thanks! |

A brilliant guy, but lacking any common sense. He was the first to do e-cockers. I think he was charging $2000 or so. Yes, they were functional electronic cockers, but when you opened up the grip, you say things connected with fishing line, running through soda straws. Plus glue, and solder drips over everything. He had the first aftermarket boards, and did lots with the Rainmaker, offering all sorts of conversions. Anyway, on that vexacontrol link above, it lists the adjustments as: Quote:

Yeah, I am not talking in a derogatory manner about him, he's just more of your essentric type it seems. I give him some credit. Anyways, yeah I dug and found those stats as well which are very useful. The "notes" section is a little odd though: Notes: Adjusting the dwell (DW) pot changes the BPS rate which makes setting the BPS rate and desired dwell a balancing act. I am assuming this functions similar to the ion board? |

I've never used an ION, but I've used a variety of rainmaker boards (ie KM2, Thunderboard, stock, etc). Dwell is important with the rainmaker. Since rainmakers work via autotrigger, you need a complete cycle, or the hammer never drops. Seems the way Mollick calculated dwell, if you lowered the dwell, he did not offset the space between shots to keep BPS constant? A bare-stock rainmaker might only cycle up to 12-13cps before skipping. Lots of tricks can increase that, like using larger hose/fittings, and mostly importantly, a good adjustable LPR. With those, it should be able to cycle up to 16-17. Beyond that, you really need hammer/bolt mods, but people have seen cycle times above 20 with enough work. But Mollick is mollick. He is like all the other odd airsmiths that have come and gone. Like Sam Tussin. Another oddball. Paintball is full of them.
