Gentlemen, I had a Nightmare, and it transformed into a dream

I got my Nightmare back from Tom of TJD Customs. The pump handle looks and feels great. It is exactly what I wanted. Anyone realize you can rack these sweet guns just by holding the pump vertically and forcing the gun upwards. It feels very badass!

Now onto the important stuff. If you read through Tom's posts from tinkering with my gun, he suggested using 14mm x 2.5mm orings on the valve assembly. Well, I tried them. Buna-70 for those wondering. Oring damage was minimal on the valve in the lower tube. I even put them on the 12g pierce assembly. Still a little rough sliding both components into the respective tubes, but they felt the best so far. Oh ya, aired up and NOT EVEN A WHISPER of a leak.

TL;DR - use 14 x 2.5mm metric orings on the valve body and 12g pierce assembly to help fix these leaky beasts!

I may take you up on the o-ring suggestion, mine just started leaking again.

Obviously this is still a work in progress.

Next steps:
figure out a detent system (will post up when I reach this point)
Feed plug leash
12g plug leash?
Install ball stop in 12g assembly to help feeding
drill the RVA to take a cocker spring and tap it so it sits flush to the body
Drill/lighten hammer to reduce burping
Smooth/lighten trigger pull
Shorten trigger pull
Install CCI stainless threaded inserts in valve body and bolt (still need to do bolt)
think up a milling pattern/ have it milled (will post up when I reach this point)
Cut/make grips (this will be neat) Pirate stock, wood grips, possible fancier material grips
Feed mod?
Get anodized
Break hearts

Thoughts?

One Mr. Palmer once told me that you can make these more efficient/less farty if you lighten the hammer to reduce the bounce.

For those o-rings, you used them on both the upper tube and lower tube assemblies? I'm asking because they're not the same size ?!?

Ya, go figure MaD. You read that correct. I used the same size Orings on both components. Still not leaking. It's had 4 cartridges run through it in 24 hours. No leaks. Both pieces slid into their tubes easier than any thick Oring. Only thin ones slid in nicer, but would quickly leak. I bought 100 of the Orings, I figured I would at least try.

Hurtcow, as I tinker with the RVA, I still get random spikes and farting, so I will at some point lighten the hammer up.

More RVA work! I drilled out the RVA to take cocker springs. Then I cut off the extra material in front of the screw holes. Then I drilled and tapped the RVA for a CCI stainless threaded insert, so the step in the RVA body sits flush with the gun body. I used the CCI insert because all the threads in this gun are aluminum and a little sketchy. No more issues here! These pics show everything assemblied and pulled apart with comparisons to the original sized parts. You can see the CCI insert in the top of the RVA in the one pic.

That is purdy, really like those thumb screws. I am very interested in what you end up doing about a detent system.

Me too. Ideally I can figure out how to do an ASP style or ICD BKO style Oring detent. Hammer 7 and spyder detents as well as dm style detents have been suggested.

I tried doing the bko detent. Lets just say I'm glad I used a scrap body. Curious as well with what you end up with

What was your problem! Body too thin to hold threads? That is the main hindrance. CCI threaded inserts may be the fix, but I will have to look into it. If you have any pics of your attempt, please post them!
