King Cobra woes

Okay, so I got this BE King Cobra off ebay.

It's got the burping issue and a leak down the barrel.

I can fix the leak down the barrel no problem. But what I hate is the burping issue. Would a heavier hammer spring cure that?

Those guns are notorious for burping. I'd assume that a lightened hammer would help.

Burping is what they do. you might be able to play with spring balance, and if you can find a new hammer, then mod that one.

As for the leak, I assume you took apart the valve, oiled and cleaned everything?

Yah, I flipped the cupseal and oiled everything. Worked well.

About the lighter hammer spring, wouldn't that cause my velocity to go way down? I have a hard time as it is keeping this thing above 250fps.

Well...you can always put a raincover on it.

Yes, reducing hammer mass will lower velocity.

Well, then that's a no go.

If I compensated the lightening of the hammer spring with a lighter front spring would that reduce the burping without dropping the velocity?
