Valve Tools For BE Nightmare

So I have been told that removing the lower valve setup and cupseal on the BE Nightmare is a nightmare ...

I would really like to get this old marker up and running again. Is there a valve tool sold somewhere that can help me get the bottom valve/cupseal out of the marker?

Or at least some instruction on how to get it out without damaging the marker itself. I can take it all apart as it is ... all screw remove with ease but the lower valve doesn't want to budge.

Please help.

Thank You

You need to take a really wide bladed screwdriver and grind the center out... or fab something from a piece of steel. You'd be really really lucky to find a valve tool this many years after the Nightmares stopped being sold.

IIRC you can depress the pin enough to use a quarter. But as Schmitti recommended the "tool" could easily be made yourself.

I tried to find more than a few items that were strong enough to turn the valve apart.. and sacrifice by modifying.... the list didn't get very far.

Good luck with this!

if the valve is the same(or close to) as the valve in a Cobra, i have a special bit in my Wheeler Engineering Deluxe screwdriver set that worked for me to take apart the valve in a Cobra. it was cut out in the center and worked.
