Stingray barrels?

I am in the market for a stingray or more likely a tigershark. I keep seeing barrels on the stingrays that have a shroud and rib running don't the barrel. Were these after market, were they for looks? What are they?

The stingrays are not that collectible. The link you posted, I think with the starting bid and shipping = $70 that is a little over priced. The one good thing is that it is in very good shape and has the good 12gram changer on it.

personally, i prefer the stingray1 if there was no other option (i have been seen playing with one once or twice) with the front blade site you can almost tell where the paint was supposed to go...i still have a couple around here somewhere
