Rainmaker GenII Back from the Dead

I have a Rainmaker GenII (The silver and black one). I would like to get it back into original working condition. I have seen several modifications on here, even one modified to a pump.

However, I just want this back to the stock functionality. When gas is put on the gun, it leaks air and the trigger is completely dead. I have a fresh 9volt in the gun. I can hear the electronic switch function when the trigger is depressed, but that is it.

I live in the Pasadena, CA area.

Any suggestions?

Check and make sure the lp hoses are routed to the mac valve. If the mac is clicking but nothing's happening, sounds like either a hose is pinched or not attached.

Must be, the 1450 with the big loud bull barrels are 6 volt. Love that barrel!

I think the 1451 models also have the plastic nipples on the solenoid. That plastic gets old an fails pretty often. Take the shroud off and you should be able to find out where the air is leaking.

Also pull the bolt cover off to see if the bolt is all the way back. Sometimes they leak when they are gassed up after the last time time it was used and the tank ran out before it could cycle. That would mean that the main spring was not compressed and could still be pushing a little on the valve.

That really is the best way to store a Rainmaker for an extended period of time anyway, or the main spring stays in the compressed position and can weaken over time.

Yes always take off the bolt cover after de-gassing and push the bolt forward to release the hammer. You don't want it stored with the hammer latched. It'll kill your mainspring.

Well after 2+ years of non use and 2,000 miles across the country it seems my 1450 is working. I did all the checks like the others have said, and it is working. However, I am hearing a small air leak coming from the bolt and bolt cover area. I have no clue where it could come from in there. The o-rings on the bolt seem to still be intact. I will try and oil the bolt before putting air on it again. I never knew that the bolt should be in a forward position to put the main spring at rest. I will store it that way from now here on out. Thanks for the advice. Any new advice for the new symptoms?
