Post count going down?

Anyone else having this issue? Or is Schmitti worried that this seat will soon be taken

A hour or so ago, I lost at least 30 postings. Is a mod cleaning up old posts? Just wondering.

Not really believe it or not. But I refreshed a page and saw I went from 3,098 to where I'm currently at now.

We have a post count?

Seriously though, I think post counts should be hidden. I understand how they can be useful at times but having them not viewable would help folks not worry about having a high post count.

Then folks could focus on quality of posts VS quantity. A post count does not make someone more important than another member, it only shows they posted more. And would anyone NOT know (for instance) who I was if I had a post count of 4? And would a low post count make anyone think less of me? I don't think so... but I could be wrong.

So I say post because you have something to contribute, not because you want to contribute to your post count.

Forums are occasionally preened as well as archived. This can affect post counts.
On old MCB some of us were at 6000+ and the database got too big, so archives happened and counts were lowered accordingly.

Was a minor bug that affected some people during some cleanup. All fixed.

Don't worry about our boy, Jimmy. He laced up his track shoes and managed to post about 75-100 times yesterday alone.

Glitch or no... you can not keep a post counter down.
