Where does the bus start its journey? I am soon booking tickets from St. John's to Hamilton.

There is only one flight between St. John's and Hamilton every day, at 1pm, which means I will have to fly out on Thursday, arriving in the late evening/night. Are there any cheap places to stay around Hamilton?

This really sucks. I'm torn between going to castle with you guys or going to the grand tactical (huge badass reenactment), since I'm not sure I can find the time or funds to do both.

If you mean Hamilton Ontario, I'm about 20-30 min away - you could always camp out at my place.

I don't want to come off as a nag, but we're just shy of 1 month away from the "point of no return" and so far it's not looking too promising.

I know that some of the people with "reserved" spots are tentative, and others are just waiting to know more about their schedule/finances before stepping up to the plate...but the last thing I want to see is anyone get screwed as a result of this. What i mean by that is there are members booking airfare, rental cars and accomodations for the Toronto layover....these things may not be refundable. The same for anyone who's paid Moosepatrol for Pre-registration...once that's sent to EMR, it's gonzo, and the only choice would be to resell the booking to another MCB party to recoup the funds.

There's a couple options at this point as I see it, but I'm always looking for discussion on any others I'm not seeing.

• Start spamming your local fields. We can throw together a signup sheet and list Moosepatrol/My contact info for people who are not MCB'rs to get on board. If anyone's artistically inclined, a flyer would do us wonders on other forums. (I'll avoid peanut butter nation at all costs!)
• Improve diplomatic relations. We can open up space on the bus to our brothers south of the border to jump on once we hop the border in Buffalo.

I think that we'd be ok for a full bus if we can put in motion a combination of both these first two option. I'm going to check with Greyhound Monday to see if there's a small capacity vehicle that they can provide, as I know they offer 47 seats, but I'm not sure of the price difference.

I'll report back once I've spoken to them, but let's start hashing out ideas on how we can make this happen!

I'll come off as a nag. Lets get this moving people. Without the Bus, attending castle will be much more complicated for everyone. Especially me.

I am also backing out. My computer has been freaking out due to kernel panics, and despite temporarily stabilizing the problem, I need to put away coin for a new one. Maybe Spring castle...

There is another option I have looked into guys. If we are low on numbers we can rent a 15 person van @ 99.95 a day with 700 km's free. Now it will be roughly 600.00 +/- so that is only about 40.00/member. Down side somebody has to rent it and drive it, also only 15 can go. Also I have not registered us at EMR yet. I have been waiting to get 15 guys so we can have our own bunkhouse. If we don't get 15 I'll have to register us anyway and we will share the bunkhouse with whoever they put with us. Resitration ends Sept 12/08 so I don't want to leave registration too late and lose out on a bunkhouse because they are all booked.
