I have a question for you carter owners, I'm looking for a new nelson based marker this season and I don't know what to get. I've owned 3 phantoms and 4+ snipers and the best pump stroke I've ever had was an s6. How do buzzards or comps compare to the CCMs? I really want to find a nelson with a pump stroke like my s6 had.

The pump stroke isn't going to be same since CCM's are sheridan based. Mini buzzards/buzzards have the best strokes, and are the closest. They do have a break in period when new but smooth up relatively quickly. Mini comps are incredibly smooth also, but in my opinion hake longer to break in. But once broke in they will feels very similar. The only ways it will be comparable is if you have the springs setup so it doesn't cock with out air. Then the pump stroke has the possibility to feel smoother, but once you get add air it will stiffen up a bit.

Second if you have the springs setup to cock without Then it will have some resistance in the stroke until cocked.

This all depends on how broken in the gun and springs are, and what springs combo you are using. The pump return spring doesn't add much to the table except ensuring that the stroke is continuously smooth throughout the pump stroke.

Thanks for the info. If it's anywhere close to a CCM it's going to be good enough for me. I used 4 other pump kited snipers before I bought the s6 and the strokes were like night and day. I only wish buzzards came up for sale more often. I don't know if I could handle the wait on a new one.

They come up in spurts. You just have to watch the BST for them.

Well I'm not coming back to SD just yet. I'm on hold here in Pensacola until the beginning of April as of right now. From there I will be headed to San Angelo, TX for another school on the AFB out there for a few more months. After that I do not know yet.

BUT!.....My boxgun is almost finished! Earon is doing the final tuning.
