You don't want to know.

As for the playing or lack thereof- some of us just don't get the chance to go out. Life happens. Work, family stuff, friend stuff, health stuff, etc etc. Saving up to get something extra special, or meaningful, or one of those Unicorn type guns is fun.

If some people really want an expensive gun because they enjoy it- then why not? It's not your money they are spending.
Take it from me, I don't get to go out and play frequently. I've had two years in a row of either medical misery, or different priorities during my time off. I still have nice stuff. I still intend to play with it.
I hardly drink, don't smoke, have very basic cell service (cheapest plan, no internet/texting etc), small TV, basic cable, I don't really party, I'm not into bars, I don't really buy jewelry, I don't buy expensive clothing (or much by way of clothing frequently), I'm really not into fancy electronics/game systems/TVs/computers, I rarely even go out to movies or concerts, I own my car, I don't really go on expensive vacations, no kids, no pets.

My job pays decently enough. So other than paying stupid amounts on medical, I like to apply some of my fun money to cool guns. It's just my thing. Honestly, if I didn't have the medical BS going on, I would most likely spend a whole lot more. That's my deal.

Do I feel badly about it, nope. I like having some fun outlets and during the really bad moments getting to both see and handle some of my favorite paintball guns makes me feel better. Many of the fancy ones are actually fascinating works of art as well as being fun to play with. They are something tangible and truly interesting to me. They bring back good memories of friends and games. It helps when I feel like crap.

Overall, I think if someone REALLY wanted to- they could afford a Duck if they cut out every other bit of splurging in their life for a while (even if that while is multiple years of saving).
Live off ramen and cheep beer, that sort of gig...

Finally, to be on topic here-I don't have a left feed Duck, but I do have a Carter and a Loo that are both righties! I also have a CIP Box Gun, and had a Carter Box I gave to JTurtle when we were together. I like the lines on the Ducks better than the Box. Just a personal preference. Both are fun guns to shoot, turn a lot of looks on the field, and feel awesome.

That must say something regarding how I feel about the Duck design. I'd love to pick up a Redux too sometime in the future. If I hadn't splurged on myself with a lever rifle, I might have looked into a Baby Duck from Earon this year. Maybe in the future...
Yup. I'd gladly rock my own flock of ducks here.

Oh, I nearly forgot about the Duckslide. I have one of those. Phantoms are nice, and that thing is basically a glorified Phantom. It feels better than a regular one, but doesn't have that real balance or good feeling in my hands that a Duck does.

Hey Lis. You and I go back quite a ways, albeit virtually though.
None the less, a pretty stable relationship IMO.
Now with you being way out there in Alaska and me being married + kids, I've never seen this as a problem for us.
So how come you never gave me a Carter?

THE-SHOOTIST Anyone chubbin' like me for this?
mailmanmike Since Monday! That's more than 4 hours though, so according to those cialis ads I should see my doctor.
tlane77 I think for a non-chemical chubby it's 6 hours before its time to see a doctor. So you should be good for another couple hours.
splattttttt I wasn't goin to google "chubbin" because I assumed it had to do with fat. The lard type, not the fun stuff. But what ever feelings Jeff's experiencing, then they must be of the fun like stuff...

I agree with this statement. I prefer ducks to boxguns, but I love playing with boxguns a lot! With the tapered top rail they point very naturally like a duck.

I will have a duck someday. But I do agree with what CJ said!

I got to shoot Weasel's (ironchef's) Baby duck and left feed's are nice, but not my bag baby. I like right feeds.

Yep needless to say that's why I'm not a fan of slam changers. I had a nasty bruise on my thigh and foot from that.

Top one is mine, but that's an older picture. One of Rodney's perhaps?

Ok, I just wanted to make sure it was not a clone of yours as the pic makes it look a little different. I was not aware tat Rodney owned that one at some point?
