Looking at picking up a Carter

Well after staring at all the pics in some of these threads, I have decided to pick up a carter pump. I am hoping to get either a mini-buzzard or maybe a mini-comp. I saw the thread comparing the two, so I have some idea of what the differences are. Does anyone have any comments/tips on them? I would consider ordering new, but I hear that they take forever, is this true?

Thanks!

It depends on what you want and what Earon has available. Most of the time is at ano. If he has some available.

There is contact info on his site Welcome to Cartermachine.com - I believe usually Lauren answers those. Here at MCB or at Portal you can reach Demonio who helps out the big kahuna fairly often.

the site is kinda neat you can pick features and colors and the flash software gives you a virtual mock up.

The site is not at al, up to date. I would not reccomend using that as a resource. Pm demonio, but he is very busy and it might take a bit...

Speedy customer service is NOT one of the strengths of Carter Machine. They are a small operation, and Carter would rather be in the shop than in front of a computer. His wife and Demonio help out some, but trying to get an answer out of them is often measured in weeks not days or hours.

If you want to try a Carter I would suggest the BST here at MCB. Carters come up every so often and they sell fast. I would suggest having some cash available and make an offer on anything that meets your criteria. Sure you won't be able to pick the colour or options but that is offset by saving hundreds of dollars and getting it in your hands before the seasons change.

Expect to pay between mid 300's to as much as $500 for a Minicomp or Mini Buzzard. Most MC or MB that come up for sale usually sell within 72 hours unless they have an absurd price on them. If you like something don't wait, it probably won't be there in the morning.

I found my Mini Buzzard took a little while to get used to. Carter guns all have little quirks, but once you learn about them you won't want to stray far from your Carter. They truly are the Cadillac of stock class guns.

Got lucky, and a wonderful member on here sold me this one. She is coming to VA! What a beautiful marker.

What do you all think of SSC's barrel mod w/ the freak inserts? Worth it? It worries me as this barrel would probably be almost impossible to replace if something went wrong.
