Where to get carter parts...

Well of course "carter machine" is the answer to that question, but I'm just a tad to busy to just do things the easy way. I would prefer to click, and then have parts show up on my door... but thats just me.

I have a buzzard coming from short304 that seems to have a chipped bolt. I dont want to know how that happened, I do plan on replacing it as opposed to ignoring it. The question becomes, if a whole internal set can be bought off of the carter website for $75 plus shipping, how much is just a bolt? Would it be worth having a whole spare valvetrain handy? $75 isnt too steep, but I do think that just replacing a single broken part is a better solution.

It also occurs to me that I am going to need a carter velocity dialer. I have had 3 buzzards prior to this one, and I had dialers for each. Granted I only used them on each buzzard one to get the velocity "close enough" and then the dialer was just a fancy back scratcher, but this is MY buzzard and if my wife has anything to say about it it will be my last buzzard. So I want to do things right. I just dont want to call hawaii...

Tell me there is some other way to get these parts without having to face my phone order phobia, or that I am a big ninny for not having called in the first place.

always sold as sets for fit and finish is the norm...

Contact Demonio and he may ask for a pic of the existing sear / hammer setup to help identify what generation of the bolt/hammer pair you have. Earon's shop is in SoCal not Hawaii down toward San Diego but as far as adjusters go - Demonio can help ya out there for sure also (I have a friend that makes expensive deluxe ones but not sure you want to spend the cheddar on a welded fancy adjuster when you can get a standard adjuster for far less)

Demonio can be reached here or on his team website at Portal

Hey bro!

Just figured I'd link these two threads for you. The first is from the previous (to me) owner. The second is one that I posted. And again, I've been playing w/ the "chipped" bolt (after FUBARing the "replacement" sear I got from RKelley) w/ absolutely NO problems, so it's totally up to you if you want to get the replacement bolt... I would definitely wait and see after playing w/ it a couple times if it really bothers you... but that's just me

I hope you like it; it'll be going out tomorrow priority mail so you should have it by Sat at the latest.

bolt assembly question

Accidentally "fixed" buzzard AT issue

Good luck getting a response back, I have had trouble for the past month or so (not quite a month). I know they are very busy, hopefully it works out for you though! I just wish I could get my bart and be done with it haha.

If that was directed towards me (not quite sure) I did, and he sent me a question back and I have responded 2 times? but haven't heard back since. Hopefully I can find a machinist who can fix the situation!

I would hate to pester him too much, not sure how he is related to Earon or what work he does so I am trying to keep it reasonable. I am banking on a machinist fixing the problem, just need to get in contact with a few of them. Thanks for the help!

Anyways,

ok, got some more info. as per Carter machine internals refrence pix I have the 2. older carter buzzard/boxgun hammer/bolt with new style venturi insert, used with short powertube.

If I were to order the $75 internal set off the carter website, what do you think would end up on my doorstep?

Secondly, do you think this thread is being read by Demonio? Hey buddy, I want a new bolt
