Yep, all nelsons adjust through the bolt. If I recall its clockwise to raise velocity. Counter clockwise to lower it.

Carters have that "special" tool though. If you don't have one you can make one if you're handy with a dremel.

You can use two Allen wrenches or something similar if you take the barrel off.

Good deduction. My Nelsons also don't fire of the bolts tpc is compressing the spring to the point that the sear won't catch the bolt. Loosen it a tiny bit. My tpc is counterclockwise (less compression, lower velocity) clockwise (more compression, higher velocity)

Hey Paul, sounds to me like the valve/body alignment is out of place. You want to minimize any gap between the stainless body and the aluminum valve in the back. There should be two set screws beneath the barrel in front of the foregrip. By loosening them, you should be able to push the body rearward. Tighten them back up (not so much that you can't screw the barrel on) and try again. No need to degas when doing this.

Hey Russ. Congrats on your games on the weekend! I believe your team won first ?

Yup, NofxKid and I figured that out, yesterday. If I hit the back of the valve with my palm, and then pump, it would cock every time. Taking the spring feed off revealed a threaded hole at the back of the body. It was easy after that. Theres a grub screw on the top of the body near the back that was missing. Presumably that locks the body and valve together so that they stay tight.

Thank you everyone for your help, especially Taminator2000 for the link to the disassembled marker, I appreciate your efforts.
