Not that I'll ever buy a Carter Comp, but that review has started me re-thinking my position on a Nelson-based marker.

The springing is right for Carters - same as mine.

Thats how my old buzzard was sprung too. It's the stiff valve spring that does it. if it works, keep it in but just remember it's in there if you can't make velocity for some reason.

Older comps, like my 1989ish, were just like regular nelsons... can't cock without air. Newer ones get HUGE powertubes, allowing for strong valve springs, allowing for the ability to cock it without air.

My 1989ish comp got "fixed up" by Earon while he was still at DYE (ummm, 2004 or 2005... ish). He replaced the internals, trigger, and sent me a new valve with the HUGE powertube and strong valve spring. So my old comp now can be cocked without air.... Pretty sure I wish he hadn't of done all that stuff to my pristine comp... all I asked for was a replacement screw for the frame to rail, and a valve body to use C/A

Looks great. It would take me a while to get used to the back bottle 12ie but it looks like a kick but setup.

The realization I came to was that even though changing out 12g's is a little harder than in a VSC setup, you do it let often. One 12g gets me through 2 games, so I end up just changing them out in between play. Even during a game, I'd gladly trade an extra 4 seconds reload time to get 10 to 15 extra shots.

These come out to be only like 600 bones when you order one in a single color.

Actually $500 for single color unless its a custom color. Then add $25.
