Interesting development. Lauren got back to me after I sent an email regarding the pump arm. They are offering to fix and re-anno it to match, as well as paying for shipping both ways. I think I am going to use it at the game tomorrow and send it back home for a touch up... I think...

Wow!
That's really cool of them. It's nice to hear their willingness to make things right, particularly the shipping reimbersement.

I was quite impressed with that actually. Lauren sent me their company's UPS number so I can ship back to them as Carter Machine, costing me nothing.

I am going to ask them about the re-anno. If they can match it close to perfect, I will, but I would rather have a worn matching gun than a clean mismatched one!

I don't think I could bear to be seperated from that after it came in my hands.

Remember to label it as "Returning product for warranty work" and ask Lauren to do the same on the way back. You shouldn't have to pay brokerage or duty then.

That is why I am hesitant. I think I should do it though, for the price of it all. I want to make sure the pump arm will be re-annoed exactly the same though, or as close as possible, first. I only need to send the pump arm and one other part to match the anno from, so it should have no issues crossing the border even before marking it repair work.

I need to ask Lauren about shipping USPS instead of UPS though. I am not going through another $75 paid to UPS just to grace me with their presence.

THE-SHOOTIST Anyone chubbin' like me for this?
mailmanmike Since Monday! That's more than 4 hours though, so according to those cialis ads I should see my doctor.
tlane77 I think for a non-chemical chubby it's 6 hours before its time to see a doctor. So you should be good for another couple hours.
splattttttt I wasn't goin to google "chubbin" because I assumed it had to do with fat. The lard type, not the fun stuff. But what ever feelings Jeff's experiencing, then they must be of the fun like stuff...

You would think so but no, UPS likes to be special.
When I sent my pyre in I had it *very* clearly marked as warranty repairs going both ways but ups still decided to stick me with $80 of brokerage charges.
I complained like crazy but was told many times by them that even if it is returning from warranty work they'll still charge their little "brokerage fees".

Seriously, DO NOT ing SHIP UPS IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER ALTERNATIVE.

She didn't, but I am going to assume the worst (until she clarifies) given the fact that their anno process adds 3-5 weeks to the build of the gun in the first place.

This is what it comes down to. If they will not ship USPS, I won't be sending it back (I might look at a third party... splattttttt maybe? I won't mind if you take a peek. ). I will post up with an update when Lauren gets back to me.

And to make it clear again, this gun really is amazing. The anno cuts, while not perfect, don't detract from it. It comes down to getting it fixed, at no charge, and having it matched perfectly. If not, I won't bother.
