Common Issues... Resolved

Here's one that just revealed it self while I was changing out an SM1 insert of my Orbium kit... The insert I removed in place of the .686 that I needed, was a .679

So I go to cock the hammer, and pull the trigger, and the whole hammer/bolt assembly moves back!!!

Well, from what I've gathered so far this is a common problem among some of us Carter aficionados, and can be some what of an interference if by if by some chance the hammer... Instead of properly disengaging from the bolt, as it should, instead ends up hanging on bolt, and your shot is kaput.

Normally with the .679 insert, the hammer would disengage properly from the bolt of my nini Buzzard and fires normally. As it should.
But not if I use a larger insert

Here's what I found...
Replacing the oring on the bolt with a fatter to accommodate the larger insert, is the way to avoid this issue. The bolt oring must be snug with in the bore, or the hammer will pull it out

mailmanmike Since Monday! That's more than 4 hours though, so according to those cialis ads I should see my doctor.
tlane77 I think for a non-chemical chubby it's 6 hours before its time to see a doctor. So you should be good for another couple hours.
splattttttt I wasn't goin to google "chubbin" because I assumed it had to do with fat. The lard type, not the fun stuff. But what ever feelings Jeff's experiencing, then they must be of the fun like stuff...

Most likely, only two different oring should take care of it from .679- .683, and the other for larger bores.
Or... Uou could just hang on to the pump handle, and do it that a way.

Sounds more like a sear alignment issue. There is a flat, horizontal spot on the hammer sear, with a ramp leading up to it. Sounds like your trigger is hitting the ramp which pushes the bolt backwards.

Ding, ding, ding. Try lowering (unscrewing) the lug that is threaded through the trigger. I had the same problem with my Mini Comp, but after lowering that screw it worked fine. I still need to limit the travel though...

I could see how doing that would reduce contact between these two points, but all that does is lighten tension.
However, I could see how replacing the sear spring with a really really light one... Would make a HUGE ****ing difference.
But you need to try my suggestion also. It's allot easier
