Hundreds of these patches were made and only a minority of those have been sewn to a jersey (and fewer still, with the official "aids needle") so they are out there, waiting to be ferreted out by dedicated Carterites.

That is what I mean about the integrity of the patch. If there were as many of them as Lincoln's face on a penny, then some people would have jars full of them on their dressers.

well since we have various contingents shouldn't each contingent have thier own patch to go along with whatever the standard one is??

The colorado contingent has their own patch based on the old green/black rectangular style.

This is precisely why I won't sew my CC patch on. It wouldn't seem right (for me, anyhow) to wear that patch without playing with y'all first. I'm hoping this year to make it out to a Castle so I might have a chance to do just that.

I agree, patches as well as every thing else changes with time. No need to fight it. However cool remakes are cool too.... but you can always tell the difference.
