If we rented, we could get 2 full-size cars from Enterprise for about $70 each-4 people each comfortably, decent mileage and enough space to store all our crap. Alternately, if we can find someone with a station wagon and a pickup, we could swing it that way (I'd rather not rent those-through Enterprise, at least, it's $18-ish a day for a car, and $50-ish a day for vans, SUVs and trucks). I might be able to beg off my grandparent's Crown Victoria-4 people comfortably, 5 if the people in the back don't mind getting cozy, and more junk in the trunk then Beyonce. Plus, decent mileage for a road yacht. EDIT: Should I start a new thread on this? Fall Castle is still a ways off, and isn't really big enough for everybody to commit yet, but I do want to get the word out to any Canuck who wants in.

Personally, I usually take my case, gearbag AND small backpack for the hotel. The reasoning for all that stuff is because I don't wanna have to borrow someone else's gear if my single marker goes down. So I bring a whole bunch. The alternative is renting 1 cargo-type van and everyone else carpooling. Toss all the gear in the van. Done.

| I sofaking retodd id Join Date: Nov 2007 Location: Oshawa, Canada | So right now we have 12 interested parties. Pretty good guys, Canada will be well represented. Sure start a thread, you can never be too early. The one thing I have thought about was a charter bus. Okay now that the laughing is over, I have a friend who I went to school with and his parents run a bus line, greyhound types. I am going to get in touch with him about this idea. Split up it might not be too bad if he can get me a discount. |
