CC Texas Division: Catz and Dogz 8hr. Scenario Write-Up

So it's Cats v. Dogs in this 8 hr. scenario game held at #1 Paintball Park in Houston, Texas. It was us Cats' time to break free of human slavery and "dress up games" and take dominion of this world! But those do-gooder lapdogs stood in our way, and had to be dealt with! So me and the rest of the Texas Division slapped on our Hawaiian and went to stir up trouble for the Dogs and have fun doing it! Or, that's how it should have been, if more of our Texas guys besides Clearush and I would have shown up! (Hint, hint ) Anyway, it was a terrific scenario, and the first I've been to in a long time (not first, but first in a long time). And despite the two-man team, and despite the muggy, pushing-90's Texas Heat, we had a blast!

The final score (forgive me, I forgot the specifics) was around 350 Cats and 150 Dogs (oh, yeah!), with the Cats holding about 75% of the field for the majority of the Final Battle. And we did our duty to the Carter's Commando name as well! Our little duo walked away with this:

And since Clearush refused to write this little summary, I get to post his prize! He won the Best Costume award, which is good for a free #1 Paintball Scenario! He gets: all-day air, a free case of paint, and free registration. And now, the best part: The pic!

Ain't he cute? Anyway, what follow-up would be good without more pictures? Here's the links to the gallery (photgraphs courtesey of Tricia of Team Warthog [she was staff this game, but took a few nasty hits to get these pics, so enjoy!]).

Catz and Dogz 2008: Part I
Catz and Dogz 2008 Part II

I'd love to see more of our fellow Texans (or anywhere willing to make the trip) come to a few scenarios down here, but all things considered, it was a great time!

PS: I know they don't read the site (at least, I don't think they do...), but I'd like to thank the refs for doing a great job, and I'm pleasantly surprised with the lack of cheating complaints, foul language and poor sportsmanship. Great job to all that reffed, staffed and attended! I really need to go to more of these things...

Look to the 3rd picture in the 1st link for your answer. That right there is Bobby "Trips" Goedecke. He was MXS's Ultimate Ref. I believe he is #1's Ultimate Ref he is also a Member of the Scenario Ref "Dream Team" and brooks NON of that stuff. Plus hes a crazy fun guy who played for the original Texas Bushwhackers with a Razorback. Not to mention with very few exceptions most Texas Scenario players are beyond stand up. =) Bobby is Old School and hes fun to eat at a dinner with after a long 26 hour game. Poor waitresses never know what hit em! Damn now I am gonna have to make the long drive one of these days down to Texas to play!

Then on the second page you got a pic of Bobby Gogglin. Hes the guy who was also an Ultimate for MXS and taught Trips every thing he knows. Heavy hitting ref staff. Hell even I would watch my mouth!

Yeah, but I don't think Bobby reffed this game. I think he was just helping/staffing.

Wish I was there =(

Yeah now that I think on it I think Bobby manages the park. Gogglin Reffed though. (Or at least I am assuming from him in Ref gear) Regardless any refs those 2 had a hand in training have nothing but my utmost respect.

Yeah I became the "Cat Guy" by the end of the day. The wife put in some good effort to get the costume sewn together for me. I must say even though I won by unanimous decision I didn't really have any strong competition in the costume department.

Well the name is spreading even got a special mention from out commander Chica from the warthogs- #1 Paintball - a big thanks!!

Between my costume and Don's eagle eyes I would say we really made a splash this game.

http://1pb.com/cs/forums/storage/33/...Dogz%20Map.pdf

The story of the game came with Don and I joining a squad of like 20+ players to go assault the enemy Dogs base for no particular reason probably about 2 hours after the start of the game. We were treking on the right side of "west park tollway" in the woods covering the right side of the squad, just kind've keeping up with the main body of the squad. Well it woods and all you watch out for two things snakes and thorns, so you spend a good bit of time looking at the ground while walking. Well Don and his eagle eyes spy this little white thing on the ground hmmm lest pick it up, oh what's this ! It's a doggie id badge oh damn.

So we wander on towards the rest of the team that is now assaulting the dogs base and engage for a few minutes. Then I think what the hell I am I doing we should return the id badge to the commander so we can get a spy in on the dogs. So I get the card from Don and return to the dead box (managed to get shot out before leaving). Which was ok as seeing our commander had been killed in the mean time by an assualt from the dogs. So I pass on the ID card giving full credit to Don for finding the special little treasure.

So three hours into an 8 hour game we had a spy with a radio inside the oposing camp base, allowing us to meet and block almost all their missions and deny them points to allow for the 319 to 157 win of the Catz over the Dogs.

All thanks to Don's eagle eyes spotting most would leave as trash on the ground. Needless to say our spy in the Dogs camp won the MVP for the Catz side for his superior effort of sabotaging the enemies missions.

Running to the reinsertion point from the fight after getting shot out in final battle

I'm not the main subject but I'm up there on the front lines

Yes he is the manager, the reffing staff consisted of the #1pb sponsored scenario team "Dead Horse" and some of the Warthogs that will be reffing the next game in June. I have volunteered for reffing the June game as I can't take the heat as a player. So we will have to see what happens.

Yeah, well in regards to the Dog ID card, all I had to do is look at the ground. I just got lucky! (/me is Don)

Anyway, the best story out of that was when the spy was assigned to assassinate the enemy general. There's just a few minutes left in the scenario, so our commander gave him the order. Our mole lifted his marker, pointed it at the wide-open general, pulled the trigger, and, "click, click, click..."

... Our inside-man's marker was off the whole time. Needless to say, he was lit up, but it was a terrific story.

Would that be the time that he asked the waitress for a virgin to sacrifice for his dinner prayers. Or when he stuffed about 40ish whole peanuts in his mouth.

I used to work there as a Manager while I was in College. Those guys (about 12) give up about a month of there free time to set up for the scenarios. I was supposed to be there and the wife was going to general but as always patients come first and we were called into work. I'm glad yall had a good time and I can tell the powers tthat be that the time they put into the game was greatly appreciated if you would like.

LOL so he told ya about that. Yeah that was a hell of a dinner. He had just made a pentagram on the table out of salt. The waitress was already freaking out because I stabbed the chair less then an inch from my teammates crotch right as she walked up. We kept calling Bobby "Dad" and whining at him like a bunch of kids. In fact that waitress disappeared and we ended up with a different one for the rest of our visit. Damn It as soon as I get a new job I am going to have to budget trips down to Texas!
