I was reading this thread and I was wondering if you guys or gals would find something like a “how to” page useful? We hear a lot of cool ideas from customers e.g. Bakers using a Hawaiian lei as cake decoration etc. I don’t sew but I do make patterns, do setups and cut fabric, so I can show you some nifty tricks that you can use to make stuff. Don’t laugh, any guns are cool, but my cutting tools are super wicked (high speed razor edge cutters) | |

I think I can speak for most everyone when I say that we would definitely enjoy a "how to" page. Thanks, Scott

Essentially if you want to clone something you turn it inside out and see if you can remove the threads and take it apart. Once that’s done you lay each piece on pattern paper (heavy manila paper) which will give you a template, Then all you do is choose a fabric, lay a piece of tracing paper (marker paper) on top of the fabric and then lay your pattern piece (the heavy manila paper) on top of that. Once that’s done you trace around each of the patterns and cut along the outline which is now outlined on your marker paper. Then you con someone into sewing the new pieces back together. Its best to have 2 of the original objects, 1 to take apart for cloning and 1 intact for sewing to look at. @Mstrtal I don’t have the kahunas to wear a kilt. Polynesian men wear something similar called a pareo, you may better know it as a sarong. So what would be sort of cool is a Warrior Cloth that had some commando pockets and such. Either way anything is possible, just a matter of how much you want to commit to something. |
