The old standard was to show up at an event that at least a couple other CC were attending. Play along side them and if they thought you were a good guy... and embodied all the important aspects of a potential CC member: Stand up player, good attitude, heavy drinker (or if not, the ability to put up with the rest of us heavy drinkers) ... then you could become a CC.

Now it seems that all you need to do is buy a patch.

I showed up at Castle, hung out at the bunk house and managed to go the entire weekend without anyone telling me to get lost. I have to admit though I did resort to bribery to get in... I brought beer and maple vodka. I believe it was Oldschool who told me that as long as I had maple vodka I could come back. That was official enough for me.

G... was that spring Castle 2006... I remember meeting you then but wasn't sure if that was your first time around the bunkhouse.

Fall 06, this spring will be the 3rd trip down as I missed last fall. I want to make it to both this year. Big plus for that is that my wife wants to come play at Castle this fall now that she has gotten hooked on paintball.

Okay... my dates were mixed up (that was a very crazy year for me). Spring Castle 2006 was my first "Official" CC event.

I'd met up with the guys once before at a local field down in Lansdale just to say hello (I was still with the psycho troll ex-wife so I didn't play).

Anywyas.. for the most part, the more the merrier, but I'm sure we will (or already have) reach our physical limit at EMR for hosting at the Bunkhouse... but it's not my place to say as I don't have a pass... I just know that it gets pretty damned crowded in and around the bunkhouse.

Well, your attendance thread shows 55 people coming. We will have to squeeze 4 people per bed. Head/Toe/Head/Toe.

Truthfully, I'm happy to sleep in a tent at the "quiet" end of the field. I -value- my sleep.

Plus, for most of the 90s, my team "New England Devil Dogs" had there own bunkhouse. They have there positives and negatives. Certaintly its tough to just "hang out" being so popular. The one thing I remember most was that when you wanted to relax, it was near impossible.

A bunch in the attendance thread will not be crashing at the bunkhouse... I think there are about 12 people that have season passes... as that's how many beds there are.

But 55 plus hanging around gets tight even outdoors, especially seeing as the neighboring bunkhouses are popular too.

ayep - the stripey bunkhouse is full of the passholders. Others will be in other bunkhouses - They post a list of who is in which bunkhouse down by the rec center.

:-!

But I'm in Socal... how the hell am I supposed to make it out there? I can drink with the hardest seasoned veterans out there, and I'm sure I'd get along with everyone... but as a self-supported (to an extent) college student, there's not much chance of me getting to the east coast. Bum days...
