I think it lends itself to the true nature of the game. It is fun and shouldn't be taken too seriously. I know the first time I wore a Hawaiian shirt was for a tourney, easiest way to look like your team without a whole lot of effort.

Otherwise anywhere there is a Hawaiian shirt there is bound to be a party going on.

This has been a good read.

Never wore the colors in paintball "Yet". But back in my heyday my buddy and I used to ski with Hawaiian shirts and Hawaiian shorts on the more mild days. Always turned heads lol.

That nelspot never needs lube, shoots 2,000 ball per second, never needs reloaded, doesn't require an air source and when the paintball hits somebody the result is the same as if Chuck Norris round house kicked them.
He nick named the gun Reggie.

I think the mishmash is what makes the Hawaiian great. It says how we are fun but not too serious. It's also why I'm slightly against the Jerseys, it's too uniform for me.

Rocking the Hawaiian is fun, and I enjoy it because it speaks volumes as to my attitude towards paintball. I'm not out to be a super-serious hypercompetitive ******* on the field, and a bit of whimsy shows that off and helps to remind me of it.

I almost didn't wear mine green and white one at the game last month at Albany Scenario... I'm glad I did... but man it's sad being the only one.

He succumbed of my Bushmaster once in the prelims and once in the semis.

I can't remember the team he played on but they were all sort of a "rag-tag" group. Many different guns, many different clothing options. They didn't actually look like a "Team", but a piecemeal group.
Interesting. Wonder who they were.

The dude actually made APG, the pic was one of those done by the photographers that loiter at Skirmish during games and tourneys, "Pocono Whitewater Photography" I think they were called.

They take a group shot and an individual during games/tourneys and offer them up for sale.

The pic could be found with enough legwork.........

Maybe he was VELCOR...............................

Or the son of Velcor, here to redeem us all from the evils of poor sportsmanship and taking the game too seriously. Velcor no doubt suffered that his Son should come forth to walk among men, and show that playing by his example was the one true path to return to those Elysian Fields to play with Velcor and his exalted children for eternity. Where paint is always round and matched to bore, 12 grams are always consistently filled, and o-rings never wear out and cause leaks.

Thanks for the enlightenment brethren.

Found this digging through Bacci's site:

That's Dave Youngblood, Earon Carter, and Jessica Sparks in the pic that Dan says is from the 90's. I'll PM him now to see of he can weigh in here on the origins of the Hawaiian.
