Here is my take:

I had Bryce Larson freak my phantom barrel, and i picked up two inserts from Punishers PB,
While the 0.684 Would slide in perfectly, my 0.679 would just not go in.
I asked Bryce about this and this is what he told me:

(paraphrasing here BTW)
"Unfortunately while SP uses a Oring system to allow the actual freak back to stay snug and "flex" to the different Outer diameters of a freak insert, I cannot. So your barrel is bored to the "average" Outer diameter. This may mean you get an insert which has a larger OD then the ID of the barrel. While there is no easy solution, you can try sanding the outside of the insert with a very fine sandpaper, and using a lube to help slide it in, and out."

bryce hit the nail on the head.

old sp inserts run .737-.742
new sp inserts run .742-.746
ty's brass inserts run .745+

unfortunatly, when a nonoring barrel is used, it needs to be bored around .7435/.7445 area

i would try to use a fine grit sand paper and hit the laser etching area, that is usually the thickest point (it kicks up a tiny burr)

my inserts i just got from GOG work and go in, but tend to get a little stuck, just needs a bit more pull then normal to get them out, or slide your finger into the insert to get them out.

What brand of sand paper would work best?
How do i sand it, sorry, i've never sanded something before. I am a noob. I just don't want to mess up my inserts.

take a nice high grit wet or dry sand paper, and lightly rub the outside of the insert
