Metric comes to the rescue!!!

I finally found a solution to the tiny paint problem and my ASP detent modded breach. Metric sizes!

I hand picked the smallest paint I have around right now easily falling right through a .673 sizer and they all held fast even with excessive movement. I'm super stoked!

Here's the details:

The magical ring a 3mm x 7mm x 2mm:

These I got from Canadian Tire (surprisingly.) But I'm sure they can be found at other places. I only checked with one industrial supply place, ironically despite supposedly being a metric based country they did not carry metric sizes. There are several more around here yet to check though.

I'm going to keep looking for more sizes and durometers. The smallest paint I have here is .673 hopefully that's the smallest I encounter! I don't know how these will perform with paint even smaller than that...

30 cents a pop, talk about markup!

P.S. This place:

Has all the o-rings one would need and the metric ones come in an extreme variation of sizes! I'd like to try a 3.5X7.5X2 or a 3.3x7.3x2.4 Unfortunately they have high minimums. But good to know these sizes exist just have to find someone who carries them.

What size are you using on your python kit? You might not have it sized right for the paint you're using and that's why you're getting the roll outs. Me and all the other pump guys I play with under bore like crazy. Out of all of us I think I might be using the largest sizer at .681! As for double feeds, that's definitely going to be a detent thing.

Thanks for the find! I have some on the way with the latest batch of Teflon o-rings I need - if they look good, I'll add them to the mod!

It looks like you are talking about 3mm ID X 7mm OD with a 2mm cross section, correct? McMaster-Carr has them, along with the other sizes you listed.

Thanks for the tip. I haven't had any roll outs on my Phantom since I did the ASP upgrade (thanks Have Blue!), but it'll be nice to have these on hand. Looks like I have something more to add to my next McMaster-Carr order.
